Flooring provides the foundation for our homes and workplaces. Keeping our floors clean is important for promoting the health and safety of others as well as creating a clean and presentable space. A professional steam cleaner is more powerful and effective at removing stains and deep cleaning surfaces than other non-steamer cleaners.
Since there are so many different options available when you’re looking for a steam cleaner, we’ve reviewed five of the best “commercial-grade” products that are currently on the market.
Professional Steam Cleaner Buying Guide
A steam clean can be an indispensable tool around the home or workplace. The hot steam from these machines is able to provide a deep clean to surfaces and removed caked on dirt and grime.
Since each steam cleaner has different features and settings, taking some time to think about what you want to get out of the product you purchase is important. We’ve compiled a short buying guide below to help you prioritize the features you feel are most important for your needs. If you also want to clean carpet, check out these commercial carpet cleaners. Although, if you want things to be a bit more handy for carpets, a handheld cleaner will do the trick.
1. Tank Capacity and Heat Up Time
First, be sure to consider the capacity of each product’s water tank. A tank that is too small will likely need to be refilled too frequently, which will lead to more interruptions in your cleaning tasks. However, tanks that are excessively big may make a cleaner too bulky or heavy to maneuver easily.
The heat up time is something else you’ll want to look at for the different models you’re considering. This refers to how long it will take the water in the tank to be hot enough to use after you plug in the cleaner. Products with a shorter heat up time will allow you to get to work more quickly than products that take longer to heat up.
2. Continuous Steam Capabilities
Similarly, you may also want to consider looking for a machine that offers continuous steam capabilities. Machines that offer this feature can continue to be used as you refill the water in the water tank. Conversely, with a machine lacking this feature, you’ll have to wait for it to reheat each time you add new water to the tank, which could add a considerable amount of time to the cleaning task(s) you are trying to complete.
3. Power and Temperature
Buying a steam cleaner without sufficient power or one that is not able to reach high enough temperatures will not be very useful. You want to find a machine that uses at least 1,000 watts of power to ensure that it will be powerful enough to power through tough messes.
Likewise, you should also be sure to select a product that makes steam that is hotter than 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Without steam that is at least this hot, you won’t be able to effectively deep clean surfaces. Some of the commercial steamers will go up to 225 degrees Fahrenheit which is more suitable for industrial applications and may be too hot for residential use for consumers.
4. Included Accessories
Another key feature to look for when purchasing a cleaner is the accessories that are included. The accessories will really determine which surfaces you’ll be able to clean with the machines, so finding a product that includes the accessories you need is important.
Before making a purchase, think about the different areas of your home or place of work that you’d like to be able to steam clean. Make sure you select a product that comes with the accessories you’ll need to be able to complete these tasks. For example, if you want to be able to clean your tile floors, make sure that a large microfiber pad and floor attachment are included with your purchase.
Finally, be sure to pay attention to the price of each model you’re considering. Weigh the price of each option against the features it includes. Be sure to also think about what you’ll be cleaning with your machine as well as how often you’re likely to use it before making a final decision.
Dupray Hill Injection

- Popular for car detailers
- Water can be refilled while in use

- The best but also the most pricey
We put a lot of thought into selecting the best commercial grade steam cleaner. After conducting our reviews, the Dupray Hill Injection stood out as the best all-around product.
This option is easy to use and built-to last. It has a stainless-steel boiler and casing that will last for many years to come. It also comes with a built-in maintenance reminder, digital temperature gauge, hour counter, and pressure gauge.
The Dupray Hill Injection allows you to clean nearly every surface in your home. It comes with a 27-piece accessory set that lets you clean everything from area rugs, tile floors, your oven, your car’s interior, and even the kitchen sink.
Since you’re able to refill the water tank while this product is still in use, you won’t need to worry about losing precious cleaning time. And, since it only takes eight minutes to heat up and be ready to use, you won’t need to wait long to get started tackling any messes that need to be taken care of.
You can’t go wrong with the Dupray Hill or the Vapamore MR-750 Ottimo, although we’d nudge homeowners and average people looking for a reliable tool for occasional cleaning towards the Dupray Hill whereas we’d nudge business owners and commercial cleaning professionals towards the Vapamore because of it’s more industrial construction.
