How To Remove Wax From Carpet

What you’ll need are about five things. You need something dull, like a butter knife, to scrape the wax off the carpet. You’ll need a paper bag, just a regular paper bag that you can cut pieces out of. You need an iron, not too hot, a warm iron, and a towel.

First thing you’ll want to do is get as much wax off as possible with this doll knife. So you need to work at that and break it up and start picking away. Sometimes, your fingers are the best tool of all. So you can see you’ve gotten most of the wax off with the exception of what’s embedded into the carpet.

So the next step is to put a towel down next to the wax, get your paper over the wax, put your iron on top. Make sure your iron isn’t too hot, just enough to melt the wax. What you need to do is you need to pull the paper, which has the wax on it, so you don’t redistribute it to other areas of the carpet. As you can see, it’s coming off. You have to put another clean piece of paper down, heat it, and pull it through, and you can see you’re still getting some wax out, and, eventually, this will stop, and most of the wax will be gone. You see, most of the wax is gone.

Now the final step, get a little carpet shampoo and some water, spray it on. Now, you need to lay it down over the area that you just took the wax off, get your iron, press it down, get a little steam going to heat it up, and there you have it. It’s gone.

Hopefully, you won’t have to do this holiday season, but now you know how or you could be the hero for a neighbor or a relative when it does happen.
